Motorcycles …… what does one looks for in a motorcycle? What is it that drives every motorcyclist to keep wanting to drive it? What’s so fascinating in owning one?
Every motorcycle owner and / or lover do answer the same way!! The feeling that a motorcycle gives you is something that cannot be described! Most probably, the ones that have never been on a motorcycle before and / or those who does not even bother looking at one won’t understand this but every biker understands this, without the need to go much into detail. Most of the bikers use / own a motorcycle as a hobby rather than as a means of transportation.
Nowadays, there are a number of 2 wheel vehicles to chose from, starting from scooters to the big beasts, like they are most often referred to 🙂 BMW has it all!! With its range of models, BMW offer the 2 wheel enthusiasts any type of motorcycles, be it scooters, enduro bikes, urban bikes, touring bikes, sport bikes and the high performance bikes!
It then all goes down to what style of bikes you like, your experience and how you intend to use it! Scooters are nowadays getting more and more popular due to the ever-increasing traffic problems in the cities. However, there are a number of bikers who still prefer to feel that feeling of being they who tells the bike what to do rather than letting the electronics decide on the gears etc ….. Some then go for something like small enduro bikes, which are not so big in size, do not have that excessive power but with which they can still feel they’re controlling the drive as they want to.
With regards to motorcycles with an engine size of more than 800cc, in my opinion, it’s definitely not an ideal vehicle for the cities and / or small islands, as long as it’s not used for some kind of a Sunday vehicle 🙂 I’m referring to the sports bikes, like for example the BMW K 1000 RR and the BMW K 1300 S models, the urban bikes, the BMW R 1200 R or the BMW K 1300 R, the big enduro bikes, like the BMW R 1200 GS and the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, the BMW HP2 Sport High Performance bike and the touring bikes, the BMW R 1200 RT, the BMW K 1300 GT and the just launced BMW K 1600 GT and the BMW K 1600 GTL.
The ideal BMW motorcycles for every day and city use would be something like the BMW F 650 GS, BMW G 650 GS, BMW F 800 R and the BMW F 800 ST. I would position the BMW F 800 GS in between a day to day bike but with some fun off road riding. For those who want some real off road experience than BMW thought of them too, with the new BMW G 450 X.
BMW has made sure it has something for everyone! If you’re looking for a new bike than I would suggest one goes to a BMW dealer and checks out what’s available. For sure you won’t be disappointed!!! Guys, Gals, make sure you focus on why you want it for before committing yourself.
