Some Of The Best Motorcycle Roads

For many, motorcycles and scooters are just another means of transportation! They are, if one looks at it from that way, but the majority who rides these so-called other means of transportation do not see them like this! The real bikers do in fact see things different from how the others see it! True bikers love to be so close to nature so much!! But what else? The feeling of being free and that wind in the face does give them adrenaline one is looking for! Having said that, what really drives a biker mad are those long stretch of smooth tarmac roads, bit of gravel for enduro bikers, panoramas, some never-ending curves, etc …. complemented but some biker-friendly stops!

There are a number of roads which bikers do love around the world but which ones are classified as the best? We feel that these are some of the best motorcycle roads in US!

– Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1)! A 1700 mile road from Astoria, Oregon to San Juan Capistrano, California. Along this road one comes across to cliffs, untouched towns, beaches, redwood forests, etc … While driving along this road don’t miss out the rustic Big Sur, bikini-clad Malibu, wild Olympic Peninsula, San Francisco, San Diego and the so much loved biker-friendly Seattle!

– River Road (FM 170)! 120 miles from Terlingua to Candelaria! Texas is one of those amazing destinations full of canyons, stunted forests, mountains and badlands! Enjoy a 17 mile off-road loop through the Valley of the Gods! Great ride along the Mexican border!

– Sun Road! 50 miles around the Glacier National Park, Montana. Stop at Jackson Glacier Overlook and enjoy a spectacular scenery! Where to? Experience this road and you’ll realise what we’re talking about!! 🙂

– Highway 12! A 124 mile road between Bryce Canyon National Park and Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. One of the best sunset rides into fantastical sandstone rock formations, deep blue lakes, canyons and pine forests along some never-ending curves!. One the way enjoy the Red Canyon, in Dixie National Forest, the Boulder Mountain and stop to admire thr Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument!

– Appalachian Mountains! 770 miles from Front Royal, Virginia to Deal’s Gap, North Carolina. Enjoy some 318 curves through the 11 mile Tail of the Dragon, ride through the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tellico Plaine and Tennessee!

– Beartooth Highway (US 212)! 68 Miles in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming Squiggle along for a couple of hours over the highest highway in the Northern Rockies as it twists and turns its way up to 10,947 feet at Beartooth Pass in Wyoming. Stop to take in views of glacier-laden peaks, alpine plateaus dotted with lakes, waterfalls, and lush forests in one of the most rugged areas in the lower 48 states.

– Overseas Highway (Hwy 1)! A 100 mile ride in Florida, from Key Largo to Key West. Great environment to enjoy some slow sleep riding along narrow stretch of roads made of bridges! Enjoy some great sea food along this tropical paradise!

– Route 66! Guess no need to say even 1 word about this as every biker must know all already!! 🙂 A must-do in the life of every biker!! A 2200 mile road from Chicago to Santa Monica full of this history lesson with endless biker-friendly stops!

– Coastal Highway 1! 170 miles from Kittery to Bucksport, Maine. A route to not to forget! One of the oldest highways on the east coast enjoying small typical towns, over 60 lighthouses, antique shops, lobster shacks, and almost 50 peninsulas to explore. Other scenic routes are connected through this highway, including a ferry ride to Nova Scotia.

– The Great River Road (Hwy 61)! 2,552 miles from Itasca State Park, Minnesota to Jackson, Louisiana. Created in 1938, this highway highlights the 10 states bordering the great Mississippi River, from its headwaters in Minnesota, to its termination in Louisiana’s Cajun Country.
