Today, I wanted to share with you my personal opinions about the above mentioned product, the Midland Bluetooth motorcycle headset. I bought this item sometime last year but I still haven’t used it much. I did use it a couple of times, especially during some of my trips, but I never had to use it as I used it last week!
To begin with, Midland offers 2 versions of this bluetooth headset, the BT1 and BT2. The difference between these 2 is mainly with regards to the number of pairings they can do at one specific time. While the BT1 can only be paired with 1 device at one go, the BT2 can be paired with a number of devices, such as a GPS, phone, pillion, another rider, etc …… . The quality of the device itself looks quite good and even the sound quality. It somehow also automatically decreases and increases the sound depending on the speed. Until today, I have only connected it to my phone and GPS and can say that not only the calls are received clearly but also any music that is on these same paired devices!
However, I have lately experienced a small but important issue! I went for a day to Sicily and, unlike other times, where I usually go straight to my destinations and not spend a whole day driving around, I decided to go around and take some longer but nicer routes. What happened was that, when I got to approx mid-day, the Midland bluetooth device lost connection with my GPS. Problem was that the battery of this bluettoth device went flat!!!!
To be honest, I was quite disappointed as that left me with another half day looking at the route on the GPS screen to get to the desired places! It wasn’t easy but I made it. However, does such devices should be invented to at least have a working time of approx 24hrs, to give you the time to go to your accommodation at night and charge it again there to be prepared for the next? This surely doesn’t and I haven’t used it that much either, so one can’t say that the battery needs to be replaced. It was somehow continuous talking but not that much that one would expect a battery to go off!
In general, I was really happy with this device but this last experience made me somehow lose my interest in it. I’ll try it out again in these days to come and, if it does makes again the same thing, then I will just take it off and invest in some other mark!
Do you have this same bluetooth device?
Have you experienced the same issue with it?
