It’s almost the middle of February and, as every year, a number of us would have visited the 2012 Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show. Today, for those who haven’t been there, I decided to share with you some of the most important things that could be found at the show and give you my opinions about this show too!
Unlike other shows I’ve been to around the world, most of the UK motorcycle shows prefer to focus on the sale of clothing, equipments and accessories rather than on the bikes themselves. For those who would like to catch a bargain, this is definitely ideal but for those who are more interested on the bike news this isn’t ideal. I was talking to one of the exhibitors at this same show and was telling me that at these London shows you can sell practically everything ….. Good to know 😉
Apart from various suppliers selling all kinds of stuff, there were the usual big makes, like BMW, Triumph, Suzuki, Yamaha and 
Ducato, apart from some others, and the much advertised Revolution show. Well, it’s nice but from a show of that sort I would expect much more. BMW had their usual big stand featuring their new 2012 models, such as the yellow F650GS, the G650GS Sertao, the F800GS Triple Black, the F800R Trophy (in Blue and White), the F800R, the R1200GS Rallye (which I really don’t like 😛 ), the R1200GS Adventure Triple Black, their new C600 Sport and C650 GT Scooters, etc ….. I had a small issue about an equipment I bought from BMW and have to admit that, contrary to the unhelpful staff I met at the BMW Service Centre in Battersea, there I found a guy who really helped and did all he could to give me the info I asked for. He even went through some internal data CD to check all in detail and show me there and then, to be sure I’ve understood exactly what I was unsure about. I’m herewith officially thank this guy who was at the show, obviously on the BMW stand in Excel ……. thanks 🙂
Some of the other makes that were displaying their latest models were Triumph, who had their new Tiger Explorer, Yamaha, with the new Super Tenere and in Grey, Ducati, with there new 1199 Panigale and Honda, with the new CrossTourer! Then there were other makes like Victory, Rewaco Trikes, etc ……
Having mentioned all these negative points I still do not feel sorry I visited but I would like to tell one thing to the organisers. I regularly go to Excel for other fairs / shows too and believe that if they had to work it out bit better they can open us some more space from the whole exhibition centre and make this show more welcoming. It doesn’t need much, maybe slightly better organised stands, split by type of stuff, motorbike brands, etc ……. and to try to get some more of these famous makes, like Harley Davidson, KTM, etc ……..
