Sometimes 😛 we tend to come up with ideas that leave all those around us asking the following question ….. is he / she insane? 🙂 And yes, being a biker we tend to be more prone to do such things 😀
Today I thought to share this with you! A friend of mine wanted to have a good experience and he decided to just take his bike, go to another country and go to some adventurous / panoramic areas …. but did he really thought about everything? Well, he did ….. he thought 😀 as, to be sure he doesn’t end up stopping in this place, in the middle of nowhere and on his own, he thought to take with him loads of tools, his 3-4 day clothing stuff and filled the tank with petrol till the very top! What bike he was with? A BMW R1150GS ……. a beast on the road!
We should do crazy things in life but it’s better if we think about the consequences first. In fact, being a beginner in off road, my friend ended up falling with the bike in this remote area and there was no one around to help out. It wasn’t easy for him to put the bike back up and luckily enough didn’t make much damage, just some scratches here and there and lost the front brakes, due to oil leakage. He was also lucky not to get seriously hurt!
What’s the lesson then? Guys, if you intend to go off road, first of all make sure you have some knowledge of road riding, go with some other riders and carry the bare necessary. One other thing …… BMW GSs are known for it’s low center of gravity, don’t end up putting so much weight in the top box, ruining the long worked for 🙂 BMW’s engineering!
