There are a number of destinations which are constantly being visited by bikers and Sicly is definitely one of them ……. so is with the Maltese citizens! Being just 90 minutes away, by ferry (using the catamaran service offered by Virtu Ferries), Sicily is an ideal short break destination for the Maltese bikers, with some going 4 – 5 times a year, if not more. Motorcycle touring is getting more and more popular with the local community!
But the question is always one! Where are the best parts to go to? I’ve been to Sicily a number of times but only been once with my bike, a BMW R1150GS. I’ve been to a number of places but still can’t suggest a whole itinerary for those interested in taking this adventure. I can point out a couple of places I’ve been to but I’m sure that there’s others around that can suggest more points of interests and maybe more interesting roads to take to get from 1 town to the other! And this is why I would like your help today!
Let’s share our Motorcycle Touring experiences, let’s share those places we’ve been to with others who have never been there, let’s have more things in common to talk about!!!! The idea of this all is to keep growing the bikers’ community and show all others that whoever we are, from whatever background we come, whatever our colour is, whatever our gender is, etc …… we are mature enough to handle our difference and learn from each other. I feel that we bikers are closer to each other than any other persons! We do not distinguish ourselves, all we want it to be with each other and share our same passion …… bikes!
Than, guys, gals, let’s all join in and share our experiences ……. maybe we can one day also organise a big event that will keep consolidating our ties! Let’s not waste our time in this world checking each others differences, we’re all the same at the end of the day, we all have 1 life …… then let’s live it the best we can! I believe that we, bikers, are a step ahead of others and the more we get closer the more we can make things happen and what else then making this a better world for us all!!

How long are you planning to stay in Sicily?

I my self have been thinking of doing a 3 day Sicily trip from Malta, however I’m thinking of doing it in my 125cc.
I hear alot of people going overland with large motorcycles, it has become quite common actually, but has anyone ever done it with a 125cc to sicily…. and back? 🙂
