New Quadro 4 Wheeled Scooter

In these last couple of years we’ve seen the introduction of the new 3 Wheeled Scooter ideas, with Piaggio being one of the first ones to introduce them on the market! Was strange to see that the idea stopped there and in fact it didn’t! 🙂 We are now faced with a new concept, the New Quadro 4 Wheeled Scooter!

Quadro4, created by Quadro Vehicles, is the first scooter with 4 wheels! Quadro4 is a 2 wheel drive vehicle using the latest HTS (Hydraulic Tilting System) technological. Quadro are after giving the market a vehicle with a sense of freedom but with increased comfort and, more and more important, security, without loosing the usual key characteristics of a scooter, that are light weight and maneuverability! With this, they are looking at opening the market to a new way of urban mobility!

Available in 4 colors, Swiss Red, Titanium Grey, Snow White & Raw Black, the Quadro4 is coming with a Single Overhead Cam Cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve liquid-cooled engine, with 346cc and a maximum power of 22.1Kw (30HP) @ 7,500rpm. Maximum Torque is said to be that of 24.5Nm @ 5,000rpm. It comes with the usual electronic starting system and automatic drive system with integrated differential. Being a new vehicle I would have expected the engine to be at least a Euro 4, instead of still using the Euro 2 L5E engine with Euro 3 specifics!

Steel tube frames, HTS (oleo-pneumatic tilting suspension) front and rear suspension system, hydraulic 4 x 240mm discs, 14″ front and rear rims and 110/80/14 front and rear tires will complement this new urban mobility vehicle! Created with everyone in mind, and targeting even more female riders, it’s 1,340mm in height, 2,180 mm in length, 770mm seat height, 19° steering angle, 45° tilting angle and a dry weight of 257 Kg! The latter is what I was really surprised with! Fuel tank capacity is said to be that of 15lts.

1st deliveries are expected to be in Spring 2015 and …. should be accepted to be ridden with a B licence within the EU
